6 Books you must read this summer.

Okay so I'm not going to start this post with a lie, i know it's really hard to read in the summer.
There's no rain falling to gaze out to, you can't cuddle up in a blanket, you can't drink coffee or cocoa whilst blissfully reading. 

But, that doesn't mean you should stop reading all together just because of the season, and these 6 books are worthy of any season.



Hector & The Search for Happiness
Francois Lelord 


I might have talked about this book before simply because I want to read it so bad.
It talks about being dissatisfied with your life and Hector quits his job as a psychiatrist to travel the world just to find out what makes people happy and ultimately, what is happiness?

- Emery Allen


So this isn't a novel but instead it's a collection of poems and I've only read a couple but believe me when I say that they are life changing. So much so that I have one of them copy pasted in my notes so that I read it every morning.

On The Road
- Jack Kerouac

If you haven't heard of him, how? Probably one of the most quoted people on Instagram and for good reason.On the Road chronicles Jack Kerouac's years travelling North America alongside one his friends and it's inspiring, exhilarating and passionate all at once.

Wicked : The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
- Gregory Maguire

I've read a lot, and I've read a lot of good books but nothing in the world can compare to the utter excellence and brilliance of this book. It is genuinely my favourite book in the whole universe and I can't even imagine something ever beating it. Gregory Maguire is a genius as he questions the nature of good and evil and rewrites Oz in a way thats more real and relatable than ever before. I can't recommend this book enough and just go, pick it up, and don't put it down.

My Invented Country - A Memoir 
- Isabel Allende

Isabel Allende recalls whatever memories she has of Chile and I can promise you, you will fall in love with a country like you've never before and it'll be more amazing than you could have ever imagined.

The Alchemist 
-Paulo Coelho

The Alchemist is a must read at least once in your life time, i don't even care if it's this summer, I don't care if it's next year, just read it.

Please do read all of these books, even if it's not this summer. Each and every one of these has made me feel something and has changed my viewpoint on at least one part of my life and it would be a shame to not share it with you. I hope you like them :)
