How to save money for travel.

Even though I sometimes hate to admit it, travelling can be expensive no matter how much you try to cut down. But for me it's all about priorities. Instead of going on a shopping spree, why don't you add that money for air travel? Saving up can be challenging simply because no one else around you does it because they're priorities are different and  that's okay. When your friends call  you over to the mall it can be tempting  to splurge just like they are but you need to stick to saving up. Would you rather a shopping spree or a plane ticket to London? Recently, I  went  on a  trip to London and I actually ended up saving quite a bit, so I thought I would give you my advice and what personally worked for me.

Prioritize

What are your priorities  and what comes on top for you? Think  about and make a list and pin it up on your cupboard so that you can constantly see it. It's actually quite amusing just how much money we spend on ridiculous things. For example, don't pick up the useless junk food  at the supermarket. Stick to the basics that are also filling. Don't go for a fancy dinner that will seriously hurt your bank account. Before you buy anything, ask yourself, " Travel or (whatever object you choose )" .That is definitely a sure shot way to at least minimize useless expenditure.

Think of ways to earn

If you already have a job then set aside a monthly sum of money solely for travel. If you're a college student, then why not get a job? If you're a high school student then conduct ridiculous things like bake sales, garage sales, sell some stuff online and religiously save up all of your birthday money, graduation money, festival money, New year money and honestly the list goes on. I know that these seem like really small and insignificant things but I can promise you that if you do implement all of these strategies, the amount that you will save will honestly be a hell of a lot.

Dedication

It can  sometimes be hard saving up simply because of the atmosphere surrounding us. It's only natural  to want to go out with your friends and it's only natural to want to spoil yourself with materialistic things. I've felt like this a a lot but honestly, your dream has to be a  rock solid foundation. And although you may feel like you want to spend, you never actually will, simply because the desire to travel is  the strongest of them all.
