To Roll or to Fold?

-------------
-------------

The challenge has been set.

Rolling vs Folding

Which saves more space? Which creases less? What type of things can you cram?

3 hours and one very sore back later, I  think I finally have an answer.

From the first time I had packed my own suitcase,my mother had always told me to fold and I didn't know any other way. So when I decided to do this, I may have been a little bias towards folding  simply because I wanted it to win so bad. But as I neared the end the answer was clear and final. Below are things I fit into half of my  suitcase when rolling and folding. I decided to use only half of my suitcase because if  I would have decide to use the whole suitcase I would have run out of clothes and the 3 hours may have extended to 10. So  here are the lists.

            Folding                    VS                         Rolling

  • 10 Tops                                                           •  12 Tops
  • 5 Bottoms ( only pants & jeans )               •  6 Bottoms
  • 2 Sweatshirts                                                 •  2 Sweatshirts
  • 3 Jackets                                                        • 3 Jackets
  • 5 Dresses                                                       • 9 Dresses
  • 4 Pairs of Socks i.e. 8 socks                      • 4 Pairs of Socks i.e. 8 socks
  • 1 Pair of Sneakers                                     • 2 Pairs of Sneakers.                                                                                                                       + 6 Scarves!!

Rolling for the win!

Okay so rolling beats folding hands down. Honestly,  I could have kept on going and stuffing more and more scarves and clothes in. There was just so much space!

So here are the Images of the suitcase when -

You can already start to see how cramped it's getting.

Space galore!

Oh and My suitcase must get a mention, Look at it! It is by far the prettiest suitcase I have ever seen in my life and I'm head over heels in love with it. And no, I wasn't paid to say that. This is my first hard case suitcase ever and I'm obsessed with it. So if anyone is looking for a good, sturdy suitcase that also comes in like a gazillion different colours, American Tourister is the way to go. And I wasn't paid to say that.

Is it crazy that a new suitcase has increased my desire to travel by like 50% when it already was like 100000000000000? I don't think it is. But then again, i'm the wrong person to  be asking. Anything that has to do remotely with  travel, if ind exciting. Like travel sized beauty products. But maybe that's just because they're  so small, does anyone else like small things? I'm blabbering again. Maybe this is a sign that I should end this post.

Anyway...My final verdict would be to roll and fold. Because rolling jackets isn't that practical  as they just become super bulky and folding t-shirts isn't too smart because they just take up double the space. So if you really are trying to  cram things in and try and utilise the space to a maximum, rolling and folding is the way to go.
